Welcome

I am a piano teacher with over 25 years teaching experience, with diplomas in both teaching (LLCM(TD)) and performing (ALCM). I have been playing the piano since I was 7, and thoroughly enjoy the teaching process and passing on this wonderful skill to my pupils.

I teach a wide range of pupils of all ages and abilities, from complete beginner up to and including diploma level in both performing and teaching. I teach pupils from Wakefield and the surrounding area from my own home and I also provide lessons over the internet.

Making the learning experience fun and enjoyable aids the learning process and helps students to progress. I actively encourage pupils to enter for public examinations, achieving many distinctions and merits. The examination board I use is London College of Music. I also organise concerts and workshops so that pupils can practice performing, which is an important skill for any budding musician.

I am a professional member of EPTA (European Piano Teachers Association); a professional body which promotes excellence in piano teaching and I regularly attend courses to keep up to date with current thinking in piano teaching. Please see
http://www.epta-uk.org/

Additionally, I was the Local representative for London College of Music for 8 years. As such, I was responsible for organising examination sessions three times each year at the Leeds and Wakefield Centres, and the annual LCM prize giving concert for the area.
